Villa Ura is in an excellent location, within easy reach of all the major historic centres in Tuscany and Umbria including Florence, Siena, Assisi and Perugia and Urbino in the Marche region. Monterchi itself is home to Piero della Francesca’s painting Madonna del Parto.

Each season in Tuscany is celebrated in a culinary form, especially the funghi and truffle season in the Autumn when many restaurants offer special menus. Wild boar also appear on the menus in the hunting season. The vendemia starts in late September when the grapes are picked in preparation for the next vintage.

Regional specialities can be found in markets and the area is also good for antiques; Italy’s largest antiques fair is held in Arezzo the first weekend of every month.
